Audit & Accounting Statements for Financial Year 2016-2017

The council is required to prepare an annual return for each financial year, which provides information about the council’s financial position and the internal controls. This contains three parts: the accounting statement, the annual governance statement and the external auditor’s certificate. The first two parts have now been completed and reviewed by an internal auditor in preparation for the external audit.

Any local elector has the right to inspect the accounting records and related documents for the financial year to which the audit relates. These documents will be made available on reasonable notice during the inspection period, which commences on 5 June 2017 and ends on 14 July 2017. To exercise these public rights, please apply to the clerk. For details see the attached Audit Notice 2016-2017.
