The A429 Fosse Way will be closed for carriageway resurfacing from Monday 19th June to Friday 30th June (not including weekends), from 0730 to 1730 daily. Attached is a map showing the extents of both the road closure and work areas (Amey Ref 22013836).
The road closure area (dotted red line on map attached) extends beyond the work area to help Amey manage through-traffic, and a signed diversion will be in place. However we will do all we can to provide access for residents and businesses in the road closure area where it extends beyond the work area.
PLEASE – ‘Road Ahead Closed’ signs are absolutely not good enough. This can be any road in the vicinity. Please make it clearer by stating ‘A429 closed ahead’; I felt very sorry for the two men fielding carloads of questioning motorists today who like me had driven right to the closure. They did not know the diversion route. At the very least make sure they have this info – and please make your closure signs much clearer. Thank you.
