There are a number of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in Northleach.

You can find your nearest public access defibrillator at nddb.uk 💚 or defib finder ❤️ All 4 of our defibrillators are registered on both databases.

If you see someone suffering a cardiac arrest, ring 999 and ask for an ambulance. The ambulance call handler will guide you through how to perform CPR, and they will tell you where your nearest defibrillator is.  They will also tell you how to open the cabinet if there is a code.

⚠️ If someone is unconscious and not breathing normally call 999.
⚠️ Do not give rescue breaths first but start hands-only CPR.
✅ Use a public access defibrillator if there is one available.

You should only collect a community AED if an ambulance call handler has asked you to collect one when you have called 999 and there is someone else available to collect the device. If you are on your own and the patient is not breathing then giving CPR is the priority. Please do not forget to ring 999 before considering anything else.

If an AED has been taken out, please return the unit immediately afterwards where possible. As the guardian of the defibrillators in Northleach, it is important that we are made aware that the defib has been used as soon as possible so it can be checked and returned to service as soon as possible.
