The A429 Fosse Way will be closed for carriageway resurfacing from Monday 19th June to Friday 30th June (not including weekends), from 0730 to 1730 daily. Attached is a map showing the extents of both the road closure and work areas (Amey Ref 22013836).
The road closure area (dotted red line on map attached) extends beyond the work area to help Amey manage through-traffic, and a signed diversion will be in place. However we will do all we can to provide access for residents and businesses in the road closure area where it extends beyond the work area.
The old A40 runs between the A40 at Puesdown and the Old Prison at Northleach and has been well used by local people as an alternative route to Northleach and to villages such as Yanworth and Compton Abdale. It was closed in 2015 as a result of a wall collapsing and the ground subsiding.
Whilst we all understand that it takes time to investigate and remedy a situation, Paul Hodgkinson believes that enough is enough and that County Council highways bosses must now act and provide a timetable for the road to be re-opened.
Support Paul’s campaign to re-open the road. Add your name and details to the petition below and help us to help out pressure on Gloucestershire County Council and Highways to re-open the old A40 as quickly as possible.

We have received an update from Gloucestershire Highways about the road closure at Prison Copse Wall behind the Old Prison, also known as the Old A40.
Further to approval at the Capital Programme Meeting this week, funds have been set aside to undertake a Ground Investigation along the site of the Prison Copse Wall this financial year. The Ground Investigation will be designed to clarify the failure mechanism at the site and help to confirm the type of solution best suited.

- Broadfield Farm Lane – 30th November to 8th December 2015.
