Chairman’s letter following an Extraordinary Meeting of the Town Council on 29th January 2020

We held an Extraordinary Council meeting to select a grounds maintenance company for up to three years, to agree the council budget for the next financial year starting in April and to agree the Precept (the amount of money we will ask Cotswold District Council to provide from your Council Tax).

We ran a fair and unbiased supplier selection process through the government’s Contract Finder service and are pleased that we received four responses to our invitation to tender. Following a “blind” evaluation of the responses where no councillors knew the bidders’ names, the Council agreed that we should offer a three-year contract to McCracken and Son Ltd.

We reviewed the projects that have been proposed for next year and are pleased to confirm that the budget we need will not have to increase from this year. The Northleach with Eastington Town Council section on your Council tax bill will not increase.

The projects we will work on this year will include: The Ward Road Play Area improvement; Extension of the path on the KGV Field; Kicking off a town-wide Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to improve the safety and parking across the entire town; and a second Hearing Loop to improve inclusion for the hard of hearing in the Westwoods Centre. We will also be spending a lot of time planning for other activities that might become projects in future.

Any questions? – please let us know.
