Please note this meeting is much earlier in the month than normal as the Westwoods is fully booked the following week. All members of the Public are very welcome.

QUEENS DIAMOND JUBILEE
A community photograph to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee will take place on the afternoon of the Charter Fair on Saturday 30th June in the Market Place at 2pm. Local photographers, Dean from Fat Beagle Photography and Heather from Chadwick Photography will organise the group photo. Everyone is welcome. Why not dress in red, white and blue or make a statement in a 1950’s outfit? Details on how to order photographs, including those of the Jubilee Northleach in Bloom floral displays will follow.

Following Cllr Patrick Sanders move to Cheltenham, the Town Council are looking for a new Town Councillor. QUESTION OF THE MONTH?
We are asked lots of questions about our community. This month we have had many enquiries about grass and hedge cutting. In Northleach we have a main grass cutting contractor and in addition Highways, Cotswold District Council, Bromford Housing, local businesses and residents are responsible for other areas. The result is that the spaces are not all cut on the same day or by the same people. If you have any queries about grass or hedge cutting, please contact us for clarification.

NEW COUNCIL FOR NORTHLEACH
9 nominations were received for the 11 seats on the Town Council, therefore, the following Members are elected unopposed:
Nick Blades, Nick Fisher, Neil Fletcher, Vicki Hewer, Patrick Sanders, Graham Stock, Carol Stokes, Duncan Turner and Alan Wellman. Contact details will be posted on the Town Council’s Market Place notice board.

ANNUAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
Wednesday, 18 May 2011 at 7.00 pm at the Westwoods Centre
This will be the first meeting of the new Council following the elections. The first item on the agenda will be the election of the Chairman and Mayor for the coming year.
GRASS CUTTING AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE
As from 1 May, Cottage Garden Services of Ampney Crucis will be taking over the Council’s contract to maintain the Town’s grass verges, Playing Field and open spaces. There will undoubtedly be a period of adjustment and residents are asked to be aware of this but also notify the Clerk if any areas are missed.

Meet the Hydrology and Water Resource Team
Bonnie Butler, Emily Gordon, Cath Sefton of the Environment Agency will be talking about the hydrology of the local area and river environment and explaining some of the work that they do.

Grass Cutting and Grounds Maintenance Contract for Northleach
The contract for the Northleach Grass Cutting and Grounds Maintenance Contact expires on 31 March 2011 and the Council is looking for tenders from contractors who may be interested in carrying out this work from 1 April 2011.
We are looking for 2 prices:
a) for a one year contract, and
b) a three year contract
The closing date for tenders is 5 pm on Monday, 14 February 2011.
