Northleach Historical Society – Roman Mosaics

Dr Nick Humphris, a former guide at Chedworth Roman Villa, offers us a fascinating illustrated survey of mosaics from across the Roman Empire. Mosaics were an art form with different styles: the early mosaics were Pagan and the later ones Christian, but as Dr Humphris will show us there was an overlap between the two, and all Roman mosaics which have so far been uncovered are “both beautiful and interesting”.
