Cotswold-District-map-504We have received the following press release from Cotswold District Council. The Local Plan 2011-2031 is an important document – it will set out local planning policies and determine which sites can be developed for housing or other uses over the 20-year period of the plan. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say!

RELEASE DATE 13 JANUARY – A Local Plan consultation document detailing the Cotswold District’s development strategy, proposed site allocations and strategic policies is being made available for public comment from Friday 16 January to Friday 27 February 2015.

During this period, the public will be able to view the document online at www.cotswold.gov.uk/go/ForwardPlanning  and hard copies will also be available at Cotswold District Council’s Trinity Road headquarters and Moreton Area Centre office, as well as public libraries across the District. Each Town and Parish Council will also have copies and the public can contact any of them if they wish to view the document.

Cotswold District Council is also hosting two drop-in sessions for residents to view proposals and discuss them with the Forward Planning team – Wednesday 28 January at the Council HQ, Trinity Road, Cirencester and Thursday 29 January at the Council’s Moreton Area Centre in Moreton-in-Marsh.  Both sessions will run from 2 pm to 6.30 pm.

Planning Permission Granted for Land at Bassett Road

A message from the Town Council Chair, Vicki Hewer, following the Planning Committee Meeting at Cotswold District Council today.

“Despite the best efforts of the Town Council, residents (35 letters of objection were received), CDC Councillor and GCC Councillor the application to build 40 houses on the Bassett Road site was approved by 11-1 with a couple of abstentions. At the moment it looks as though the entrance to the site will remain in Bassett Road and affordable houses remain at 50% though this may be able to be renegotiated at full planning application. Please remember that the prospective purchaser of the land could well make alterations to the existing layout of the site.”

Northleach State of the Parish Report Published

The Steering Group has reached a milestone with the completion of the State of the Parish Report.

This document lays out many facts and figures about the parish and summarises the planning policy context that will influence the detail of the Neighbourhood Plan in due course.

The report also includes a summary of the key findings of the Neighbourhood Plan Survey, which was carried out over the summer. The Town Council thanks all those who have taken the time to provide their views on the future of the parish.

Neighbourhood Plan Survey

n'hood-plan-surveysA survey has been distributed to all households in the parish over the last week.

The survey will provide vital information to help us create the Neighbourhood Plan, which is a “blueprint” for how we wish the town to develop between now and 2031.

There will be changes! As you may be aware, Northleach is already subject to a planning application for development on the land at Bassett Road. Your responses will help the Town Council secure the right type of development in Northleach and the infrastructure changes needed to support that development.

Please take the time to complete the survey.

Return your survey by 31st July and you can enter a prize draw for a chance to win £50!

The survey can also be completed online: www.surveymonkey.com/s/NorthleachThePlan

Completing the survey online will save us time later, since we won’t have to manually enter the data into a computer. But if you’re not comfortable with the online version, don’t force yourself to use it. The most important thing is that you complete the survey.

We need as many responses as possible! More responses carry more weight when the Town Council engages with the local planning authority and housebuilders over future development. Your answers will help the Town Council to secure a better future for Northleach.

Kind regards,
Cat Crompton

Clerk
Northleach with Eastington Town Council
