Northleach Photographic Group Summer Exhibition

Northleach Photographic Group (NPG) is delighted to announce their first public photographic exhibition this summer.

39 images taken by group members are currently displayed in the shops, pubs, wine bar and some local windows on the High Street and Market Place in Northleach.

Don’t miss a chance to see it! The exhibition is expected to run until the end of the first week in September.

This road will be closed (as per the attached plan) on 16/11/2026 to 18/11/2026 to allow for water service repair work by Thames Water.

Cotswold District Local Plan Regulation 19 Consultation

Information from Cotswold District Council:

Cotswold District Local Plan Regulation 19 stage of the consultation is now open for comments.

What you need to know

Cotswold District Council is inviting representations on the Publication Version of the Cotswold District Local Plan 2026-2043.

The consultation will run for six weeks from 24 August 2026 until 5 October 2026.

The Local Plan sets out the Council’s proposed planning strategy for the district to 2043, including policies and proposals for housing, employment, infrastructure, environmental protection and sustainable development. Once adopted, the new Local Plan will replace the adopted Cotswold District Local Plan 2011-2031 and will form the basis for determining planning applications across the district.

This consultation represents the final stage of plan preparation before the Local Plan is submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination.

Unlike earlier consultation stages, the purpose of the Regulation 19 consultation is to invite formal representations on whether the Publication Local Plan is legally compliant and ‘sound’.

How to have your say

The easiest way to have your say is using the online consultation form: your.cotswold.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/local-plan-reg19.

You can also email local.plan@cotswold.gov.uk to request a copy of the offline form, which you can return via email or post.

Please note that representations and the names of respondents may be published as part of the examination process.

All representations received during the consultation period will be forwarded to the Planning Inspector together with the Council’s responses. A copy of the Local Plan consultation privacy notice is available online.

Have Your Say On Proposed Changes To Fire Service Cover in Gloucestershire

The ‘shaping a safer county’ consultation is asking the public, stakeholders and workforce for their views on proposals to redeploy existing resources into creating a wholetime day-crewed model in Cinderford.

This would strengthen fire cover in the Forest of Dean and make the best use of existing resources across the county.

The proposals are based on independent analysis and data modelling which concluded that providing a day crew at Cinderford would deliver significant operational and community safety benefits. These would include faster response times, increased fire prevention work and a stronger presence in the community.

Data modelling has shown that due to a combination of overlapping response coverage, the proximity of neighbouring stations and lower overnight demand, resources would be better placed as Cinderford during the day, rather than Cheltenham West during the night.

Cheltenham West would retain a wholetime day crew under the plans and Cheltenham East remains as 24 hour cover.

The proposals also respond to financial pressures facing Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service. As part of the council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy, the service is required to deliver savings of £827,000 over the next four years. The recommended option would achieve these savings by redeploying existing resources rather than creating new posts, allowing investment to be focused where it can have the greatest impact.

JOB TITLE: Westwoods Caretaker

EMPLOYMENT: approx 8 hours per week

SALARY:  £13.47 (pay award pending)

Northleach with Eastington Town Council is looking for a part-time caretaker to help us look after the Westwoods Centre.

This essential role in our community hall involves undertaking duties to ensure the safety, security, cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities include opening and closing the building, setting up equipment for hirers, carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs (or reporting them), and generally looking after the building so we can continue to offer a great facility for the community.

You’ll also be a friendly point of contact for hall users, helping them get set up for events and activities, answering questions, and assisting with occasional enquiries.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in making spaces and people feel cared for. You’ll keep our hall safe, clean, and welcoming, and in return you’ll enjoy a flexible routine, and the satisfaction of playing a quiet but important role in community life.
