A special day is being organised to publicly thank the people who have gone above and beyond their normal duty in Gloucestershire during the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘Gloucestershire Day’ (#GlosDay) will also be an opportunity to celebrate the spirit and strength of our communities and to nominate someone who lives or works in the county who has helped you during the crisis.
#GlosDay will be held on Monday 21 September to coincide with World Appreciation Day and we plan to make it an annual event.
We want to promote everything that is great about Gloucestershire – the districts, businesses, areas of interest and hidden treasures that make it such a wonderful place to live and work.
Ways you can mark #GlosDay:
- Visit one of the county’s many attractions (eg a trip to the Cotswolds, a walk up Cleeve Hill or Cam Peak, a visit to Tewkesbury Abbey or Gloucester Cathedral)
- Plan a family gathering
- Enjoy a walk around the county’s glorious countryside
Be as creative as you like to show what makes Gloucestershire special to you – whether it’s making, creating or painting something – and share it with us!
On the day itself, we want as many people as possible to share short video clips or photos showing how you are celebrating using the hashtag #GlosDay.
We’ll also be sharing photos of Covid-19 Community Heroes – people who have gone above and beyond to support others during the pandemic. Find out more on the Covid-19 Community Heroes page.
