Northleach Town Council Has 3 Vacancies for New Councillors

The Town Council currently has three vacancies for councillors and are hoping to fill these seats at the next Council meeting on Wednesday 25th July.

The Council has wide ranging responsibilities, making decisions for residents on a very local level. Responsibilities include the Westwoods Centre, the Pavilion and playing field, play areas and water meadow, most of the Town’s grass cutting, the Cemetery and the allotments. In addition we liaise with Cotswold District Council and Gloucestershire County Council over issues that affect the town.

We also have ad hoc subcommittees and working groups. Over the last few years these have included the community litter pick, play area project, MUGA working group and winter planning.

There are certain criteria in order to apply. You must be:

  • British or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union
  • At least 18 years old
  • Registered to vote in the area or have lived, worked or owned property there for at least 12 months before an election or appointment.

If you would like more information please contact the Clerk or one of the councillors whose details are on the notice boards in town or on the website www.northleach.gov.uk.
