Robbery at Cotswold Stores, Appeal for Witnesses

The local policing team has sent the following statement about the robbery yesterday evening. I have asked them to send someone to our next Council meeting on Wednesday 21st February to give an update.

Kind regards,
Cat, Town Clerk

We are investigating an armed robbery which happened at a Cotswold store last night, Thursday 8 February. Officers were called to the Cotswold Stores, Market Place, Northleach at about 8.05pm after three men had threatened staff with a pick axe and other weapons before making off with cash from the till. Three offenders, all men, had entered the store shortly before 8.00pm.  The offenders, all described as wearing dark clothing and face coverings, left the shop and are believed to have made off in a car.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who was in Market Place, Northleach earlier in the evening and either saw the offenders or an unfamiliar vehicle arrive in or leave the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk quoting incident 412 of 8 February.

  1. Is there public space cctv in Northleach, operated by police, security industry or others? Has any been installed in past by police/ local authority, even if not operational now? There is need for something around Market Place so we can see vehicle movements after an event. Live cctv probably too intrusive.
