A message from the organisers of this year’s Charter Fair:

Charter fair poster5The new organiser’s of the 2015 are working away on plans to make this summer’s Northleach Charter Fair & Music Festival  the best ever. This will be the event’s third year in its venue on the King George V playing fields and the day is closer than you think!

The date to put in your diary is:
Saturday 27 June 2015
11 am to 11 pm

There is still time and space for stallholders, exhibitors and those wishing to promote their services, products or charities to sign up. Please contact Joyce Hiller on e-mail charterfair@hotmail.co.uk to receive details on how and where to sign up.

Entry for visitors to the Charter Fair is free, with a whole host of events planned throughout the day from 11 am to 5 pm, when the Music Festival will open and continue from 5 pm until 11 pm. Tell your family and friends as they will need to get their ‘booking’ in quickly if they want to come and stay with you that weekend to enjoy everything this community event has to offer.

Events and acts are already signed up including Junkfish, who will once again be entertaining children with their craft tent and their junkball run, as well as the favourite fun fair rides and attractions. Plenty of refreshments will be available, including the annual BBQ and a variety of activities and live entertainment of interest to visitors of all ages. Northleach Fire Station Fire Engine will allow kids of all ages to take a closer look and the popular wake ‘n’ shake will kick-start the day.

2015 organiser Linda Seaton comments: “We’re looking to build on the tremendous success of last year’s Charter Fair, ensuring more clubs and groups are involved to entertain at the Fair and to give greater exposure for charities and local businesses with the opportunity to run more stalls during the day. This, we hope, will provide a mix of entertainment to appeal to everyone. We’re sure this is set to be a truly memorable Charter Fair: a fun day out for the whole family. We want to make this the best ever Charter Fair.”

The Charter Fair is an incredible 788 years old, dating back to 1227 when King Henry III granted the town of Northleach a Charter which allowed a weekly market and an annual fair. The Charter Fair is always the last Saturday of June, that being the closest weekend to the feast day of St Peter and St Paul.

The funds raised through the Fair benefit many local charities and clubs as well as international charities.
