On the first Saturday in August a stroll round Northleach revealed a wonderful array of floral delights many of which sadly were not entered into the Town Council’s competition. Despite recent weather conditions conspiring against the creation of floriferous masterpieces the residents of Northleach excelled themselves and gave us a delightful morning. Inevitably with a competition there have to be winners and the task was difficult but in the end the overall winner had to be the vibrant and exuberant display created by
Mr. and Mrs Clifford in Crail View
and the runner up was
Mrs C. Cooper of Ward Road
and both won vouchers from the garden centre in Moreton in Marsh. Congratulations to both these competitors. Anyone taking a wander through the Town would be well advised to keep an eye open for the glorious hydrangea in Mill End, the charming display outside Dover House and the excellent barrels outside the Cotswold Hall. A big thank you to everyone who has put in so much effort to create lovely displays for all to enjoy despite all the adversities that the weather has thrown at us over the last weeks. Lastly our thanks go to David Fox who, with his daughter Georgia, kindly devoted his Saturday morning to judging our offerings.
