Police Appeal For Witnesses to Cotswold Stores Break-in

Break in at store in Northleach, Cotswolds

Officers are appealing for information after a group of men forced entry to a shop in Northleach, Cotswolds in the early hours of this morning, Monday 14 August. 

Police were called at around 1am to Market Place with a report four men were seen breaking into a shop.

It is believed that they travelled to and from the scene in a dark-coloured Audi and investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage of the vehicle involved.

After entry was gained to the premises an unsuccessful attempt was made to access the ATM. Tobacco was stolen before the group then fled a few minutes later in the Audi at speed in the direction of West End.

Police attended however the suspects were not located and no arrests have been made at this stage.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw what took place, the vehicle involved, or who has any other information which could assist the ongoing investigation.

We have an opportunity for a community-focused individual to join our team as the Administration Officer, helping to ensure the smooth operation of local services.

This is a part-time, permanent position, reporting to the Town Clerk. Responsibilities include managing allotment tenancies, cemetery burials and deeds, and general administrative support to the Town Council. This job is varied and hands-on, requiring travel around the parish to complete inspections, meet contractors, or attend meetings of the council and committees, which will involve some evening work.

This is a customer facing role, and you would need to be confident in dealing with people from all sectors of the community. The ideal candidate can work independently and has excellent organisational and IT skills. Some experience of local government and/or the bereavement industry would be desirable, although not essential as training will be provided.

Northleach with Eastington Hanging Basket Competition 2023

Open to Private Residents and Businesses

All entrants must be situated in the parish of Northleach with Eastington.

Only living (real) flowers/ plants / are to be used.

All exhibits must be visible to passers-by until 24 June 2023, and can be of any floral design within a hanging basket.

The competition is organised by Northleach Charter Fair and Music Festival 2023 Committee and the judges’ decision is final.

Entrance is £5 for all residential premises, £10 for businesses.

There will be a cup presented to the winner and additional prizes.
