Remembrance Day, Sunday 12 November 2023

The traditional open air service in Northleach to mark Remembrance will be held at 10:50AM on Sunday 12th November 2023 beside the War Memorial at the Market Place. It will be preceeeded by a service in the church at 10AM. Residents are cordially invited to join us to mark the occasion.

The Market Place will be the subject of a road closure order for the duration of the ceremony at the War Memorial. A temporary road closure will be in place to ensure that people can pay their respects in safety and without interruption from passing traffic. The closure order will apply to the Market Place and High Street, and will be in place for just a short period before and during the ceremony. We hope no one will be too inconvenienced by these arrangements.

We kindly ask owners to remove any vehicles parked in the vicinity of the War Memorial before the road closure comes into effect at 10:30AM. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles only during the closure period.

Public notices advising of the road closure will go up shortly and a copy of the legal order can be found below.

New Mini Lending Library Opens @ The Westwoods Centre

Northleach has its own mini lending library from October. This replaces the mobile library service that used to visit Northleach.

Gloucestershire Libraries has placed a deposit collection of books at the Westwoods Centre from the 4th of October.

Just bring along your library card, chose a book and sign out.

The collection will be refreshed every first Wednesday of the month.

There is also an option to reserve books online and collect from the Westwoods centre. See the poster next to the books for more information.

The mini lending library bookshelf is located in the entrance foyer of the Westwoods Centre, next to the office.

Opening hours are the same as the Westwoods Centre itself, usually 09:30 to 12:00 Monday to Friday.

This is a trial of a new service, so let us know what you think.

If you’re not already a library member then sign up using the link below.
