Christmas Message from the Town Council

We are coming to the end of what can only be described as another extremely challenging twelve months.

Please look at our website Northleach with Eastington Town Council where you will find contact details for Town and County services in our Can We Help section.  If there is any important local news over the holidays it will be posted here on our website.  Our next full refuse collection (all bins) will be on Friday 24th December.  Waste collections are continuing as normal over the Christmas and New Year Period.

The Town Council Office will close from 23rd December and re-open on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

Councillors and Staff at Northleach with Eastington Town Council would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Have your say on Cotswold District Council’s Budget 2022-23

Residents and businesses in the Cotswolds are being urged to give their views on the District Council’s spending plans as it prepares its budget for the next financial year. The Council is keen to gather residents’ views on key areas including car parking, council tax and the Council’s plan to invest in the District.  A short survey has been developed which can be found on the Council’s website. The survey closes on Friday 19th November.

Residents and businesses will have the opportunity to speak to Cabinet members and senior Council officers about the proposed budget at a series of events during the consultation period.

A special episode of CDC LIVE will feature a live budget Q&A on Thursday 28 October on the Council’s Facebook and YouTube channels. You can join the Q&A from 2 pm to 3 pm – ask your questions live or send them in advance to communications@cotswold.gov.uk. Members of the Council’s Cabinet and Senior Officers will be visiting town and village centres across the District from Monday 1st November to speak face to face with residents and discuss the Council’s financial position and the forward plans with them.

Residents can find out more about upcoming engagement events at www.cotswold.gov.uk/budget or by following the Cotswold District Council on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The Budget Consultation is now live and will be available on the Cotswold District Council website at www.cotswold.gov.uk/budget until Friday 19 November. More information about the Council’s priorities and Council Tax are available on the Cotswold District Council website.

Notice of Conclusion of Audit for Year Ending 31 March 2021

Notice is hereby given under Regulation 16(1) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 that the auditor has concluded their audit of the statement of accounts, which has been published.

A local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate may inspect and make copies. Please see the notice below for details.

Annual Canvas of Electors 2021

As you may already know,  Cotswold District Council’s Electoral Services Department undertakes an annual check of properties in the District and this year’s is now underway.

The canvass starts with a data matching process against Dept. of Work and Pension records.  This gives them two sets of properties – those where all the electors match to DWP (Route 1) and those where all or some electors don’t match (Route 2).

The canvass began with an email to Route 1 properties a couple of weeks ago.  The email asked residents to confirm or change their details.  If no response is received from a property, a form will be posted to those households at the end of August.

These Route 1 property forms do not require a response from the householder unless there are changes to be made.  Once the forms have been posted,  work on these properties is complete although entries are reviewed throughout the year using internal data such as council tax records. Therefore, as no reminder form will be sent, it is important that any household that requires changes to be made, returns the form to CDC or makes changes online.

Route 2 properties will receive a form within the next 10 days and Cotswold District Council does need a response to these.  Therefore, if no response is received they will follow up with a posted reminder and finally a canvasser visit to the property.  Also, as part of the process they will be sending a separate information sheet to properties that currently don’t have any electors registered.  A copy of this can be found below for your information.

If you have any queries, please contact Cotswold District Council’s Customer Services team on 01285 623002 or email them at  elections@cotswold.gov.uk
