The Government has just announced that the A417 Missing Link at the Air Balloon will definitely be built in the next 5 years.

This notorious stretch of road has been a blight on the Cotswolds for way too long. Some of us have lobbied for this for years and it is a credit to all those who pushed hard for us not to be forgotten that this project is finally going ahead.
At last, we have the prospect of the triple problems of multiple accidents, air pollution and congestion being a thing of the past. Project managers for the Missing Link scheme tell me that construction of the new dual carriageway, replacing the existing single carriageway, is due to start next year with cars driving the new road in 2024.
