Cotswold District Local Plan 2011-2031 Consultation

Regulation 18 ‘Issues and Options’ Consultation is available for residents to view and submit comments between the following dates:

Start date: Friday 4th February 2022

End Date: Sunday 20th March 2022

The Local Plan is the statutory development plan setting out the principal policies and proposals for land use in the District. The Council has now reached the first formal consultation stage in the partial update process – known as the Regulation 18 ‘Issues and Options’ consultation.

The public consultation invites comments on a targeted update of the adopted Local Plan, focussing on specific issues and options covering 18 planning topics or themes. Last year the Council agreed a programme of work to update the Local Plan partially so that it can respond to the Council’s new Corporate Plan, climate and ecological emergency declarations and recent changes to national planning policy and guidance.

Your comments together with updated evidence will be considered and used to inform the next stage of the plan preparation process – the draft Local Plan Partial Update – which will be the subject of a further round of consultation in 2023.

Please note the deadline for comments is 11:59pm on Sunday 20th March 2022

It is important to be aware that names and comments, once processed, will be made publicly available on the Council’s website. A Local Plan Privacy Notice is available on the Council’s website.

To assist the consultation process, public drop-in events will be held on:

Wednesday 2nd March 2022 from 2pm until 6:30pm at the Committee Rooms, Council Offices, Trinity Road, Cirencester, GL7 1PX and

Wednesday 9th March 2022 from 2pm until 6:30pm at Moreton Area Centre, High Street, Moreton-in-Marsh, GL56 0AZ

Further supporting evidence documents, including FAQs, are available to view or downloaded on the Council’s website at: https://www.cotswold.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning-policy/

Remembrance Sunday Road Closure

The traditional open air service in Northleach to mark Remembrance will be held at 10:50 on Sunday, 14th November 2021 at the War Memorial on the Market Place. Residents are warmly invited to join us to mark the occasion.

The Market Place will be the subject of a road closure order for the duration of the ceremony. The temporary road closure will ensure that people can pay their respects without the noise of passing cars or risk of traffic accident. The closure order will apply to the Market Place and West End between the Market Place and Cotswold Hall. The closure will be in place for just the short period of the ceremony itself and the Town Council hopes that no one will be too badly inconvenienced by these arrangements. Please ensure that all vehicles required to be used during this time are removed prior to the order taking effect. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

Public notices advising of the road closure will go up shortly and a copy of the legal order can be found below.

Have your say on Cotswold District Council’s Budget 2022-23

Residents and businesses in the Cotswolds are being urged to give their views on the District Council’s spending plans as it prepares its budget for the next financial year. The Council is keen to gather residents’ views on key areas including car parking, council tax and the Council’s plan to invest in the District.  A short survey has been developed which can be found on the Council’s website. The survey closes on Friday 19th November.

Residents and businesses will have the opportunity to speak to Cabinet members and senior Council officers about the proposed budget at a series of events during the consultation period.

A special episode of CDC LIVE will feature a live budget Q&A on Thursday 28 October on the Council’s Facebook and YouTube channels. You can join the Q&A from 2 pm to 3 pm – ask your questions live or send them in advance to communications@cotswold.gov.uk. Members of the Council’s Cabinet and Senior Officers will be visiting town and village centres across the District from Monday 1st November to speak face to face with residents and discuss the Council’s financial position and the forward plans with them.

Residents can find out more about upcoming engagement events at www.cotswold.gov.uk/budget or by following the Cotswold District Council on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The Budget Consultation is now live and will be available on the Cotswold District Council website at www.cotswold.gov.uk/budget until Friday 19 November. More information about the Council’s priorities and Council Tax are available on the Cotswold District Council website.
