We have the following on the progress of the Old A40 road project from the Project Manager.
The machinery has been removed from site as a natural break has occurred in excavation works on the canal site, and thereby cessation of the movement of material to Northleach.
Machines will be back to Northleach towards the end of June for about 3 weeks as they move the excavated spoil from the Southern bridge, and the final visit will be towards the middle of August to deposit the remainder of the excavated spoil from the Northern Bridge and canal channel.
The team are on programme to get the Northleach site graded and contoured by mid September and topsoil and seeded by the end of September.
They have reopened the footpath as the wall is now well buttressed and we see no danger of major movements in the carriageway that would put the public at risk.
It looks like we are on target for an Autumn re-opening of the road which is good news!
