- Don’t worry, help is at hand and so is funding!
In April 2011, the Central TV region will begin the switch to digital television. The analogue signal for part of Gloucestershire comes from the Ridge Hill transmitter group. This signal will be switched off and replaced with a new, stronger digital signal. Anyone who currently receives only BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel Four, and Five through their aerial will need to convert their television before 6th April 2011 otherwise they will begin to lose channels. When switchover completes on 20th April 2011 they will not be able to receive any TV channels at all if they have not converted.
Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) has been appointed by Digital Outreach to work with the voluntary and community sector during the run up to the digital TV switchover by providing grants, materials, free training, support and guidance to enable groups to signpost the people they support.

- GRCC to come along and talk to you about what the switchover means and what help is available
- Information to give your staff so they can tell your clients about the switchover
- Grants to hold all kinds of events to tell your group about the switchover. This could be a coffee morning, a special lunch, a Christmas or New Year’s party, transport to help people get to your venue etc. The more innovative the better!
- Free leaflets and promotional items to give away
