The Annual Northleach Court Leet

The Annual Northleach Court Leet and town dinner, a tradition which dates back to the founding of the town in the Middle Ages, will be held at the Cotswold Hall on Friday 15 November at 6.30 pm. The associated ceremony to elect the High Bailiff takes place at 6.30pm and is open to all, whether attending the dinner or not, but attendees must be present before it commences.
Until recently the Court Leet was held on a Thursday: by moving it to Friday the Trustees hope to make it easier for people to attend and that a custom can be revived in which children bang tins or pans around the town to announce the name of the new High Bailiff (and collect coins in the process!), given that there will be no school the next day.
