Northleach Historical Society | What’s In A Name?

3 April 2019 @ 7:30 pm

£3

Where do our place names come from? Northleach was built north of the Leach in the thirteenth century, but the names of other towns and villages are often more mysterious. Dr Simon Draper, assistant editor of the Victoria County History, unravels the hidden connections between place names and archaeology in Gloucestershire, from the Anglo-Saxon landscape and trades to churches and royal and aristocratic dwellings.

Members free, visitors welcome (£3)
