Historical Society Talk | Deception in Military Operations

3 February 2016 @ 7:30 pm

£3

Deception: deceit, bluff, mystification, subterfuge, fraud, camouflage, concealment, sleight of hand – according to one dictionary definition. But is it justified in war? Robert Skelt worked for nearly 40 years at GCHQ, and after retirement as a tour guide at code-breaking Bletchley Park. Come and hear him on Deception in Military Operations, the first Historical Society talk of 2016. A chance too to renew your membership, or to come and join the Society for a year of monthly talks this year ranging from William Tyndale and the King James Bible to the Antarctic explorer Edward Wilson (a local hero), the centenary of the 10th Glosters at the Battle of Loos and the history of the Magic Lantern. Annual membership is just £12.

Wednesday 3 February 7.30pm at the Westwoods Centre. Members free, visitors Welcome (£3)
