Diane Lovell, an American history professor who divides her time between Texas and Sherborne, has studied the archives and Sherborne church monuments to uncover the drama-filled story of the two Princesses Bariatinsky: Frances Dutton, daughter of the first Lord Sherborne, who defied family opposition to marry a Russian prince, and their daughter Elizabeth.
Members free, visitors welcome (£3).
