Northleach Historical Society: Blood On Their Hands, An Insight Into Roman Medicine
Stefan Urbanowski, an historian of Roman archaeology affiliated with Chedworth Roman Villa, explores the practices of medical care in Roman Britain, including surgical techniques, the role of physicians, and Greek medical knowledge. His talk highlights how Roman medicine combined folk remedies with religious and magical elements as well as local traditions.
