Ever Thought of Being a Local Councillor?

We have now received the nomination packs for those people interested in joining the Town Council. Every councillor on the current Council is up for re-election on 7th May 2015 and some have decided not to stand again.

Therefore anyone wishing to stand as a councillor needs to submit a nomination paper to the Returning Officer at Cotswold District Council by Thursday 9th April.

If you would like more information about the role of councillor then please contact me. Or you can speak to one of the current councillors whose details are on the website and our noticeboards at the Westwoods and the Market Place.

The Town Council is the most local level of government and in Northleach it has responsibilities for specific areas like the KGV Playing Field, play areas, allotments, cemetery, Westwoods Centre as well as managing some of the grass verges and trees (see What Do councils Do?). Current projects include the Neighbourhood Plan, the play area upgrade, the multi-use games areas (MUGA) project and existing issues include parking, dog mess and traffic.

Please get in touch if you would like more information or to receive a nomination pack.

Kind regards,
Cat Crompton
