The Hugh Westwood Educational Trust

We have been asked to make people aware of The Hugh Westwood Educational Trust.

Hugh Westwood, a local landowner and sheep farmer, founded a grammar school in Northleach in 1559. When the school closed in 1988 the Foundation funds were invested to provide support for students in Higher and Further Education who were born or educated in the original catchment area of Westwoods Grammar School.

Awards of between £100 – £200 are available for each year of study.

Applicants must be under the age of 25.

Further details are available from John Lawrence. Tel: 860362

Or for application forms contact the Clerk to the Trustees, Mr. J. Prout email Jcp_hwet@btinternet.com

(Applications are traditionally made between August and the end of October, when places and courses are confirmed, so that the money is available to the student at the start of the academic year.)
