County weather update – Jan 2010

Gloucestershire County Council is preparing to send out its team of gritters again tonight as light snow is forecast for the county. Latest Met Office forecasts suggest Gloucestershire may see between 2cm and 5cm of wet snow in the highest parts of the county from around 6am tomorrow.

Other areas are likely to get some sleet and slush with the lowest areas seeing rainfall only.
The gritting teams will be going out at about 5am treating all A roads and some B roads on the high ground ahead of the predicted snow as a precaution.

Driving conditions may be affected, particularly on higher ground so motorists are advised to take care when travelling tomorrow morning.

The council is continuing to conserve its salt stocks, while the national salt cell is still responsible for deliveries.
This is reviewed on a daily basis.
