The Trustees of the King George V Playing Field have set the fees required of sports clubs using the Pavilion and Playing Field. Some of the clubs are unable to meet the fees set. However, at their meeting on Tuesday evening, the Trustees of Northleach King George V Playing Field agreed to accept the fees offered by the sports clubs on the understanding that fund raising activities are organised to meet any shortfall.
For a period of one year any remaining shortfall in running costs and essential maintenance will be met by the Trustees with a grant from the Town Council. That grant will be covered from capital originally set aside for the development of a Multi Use Games Area.
The Trustees also agreed to lease the bar area of the Pavilion to Northleach Club Ltd on a 12 month lease on conditions already accepted by the company in principle. These conditions include: that the bar is used principally in connection with sporting activities which have been booked in advance with the Trustees, it cannot function as a members social club and that prices are set in agreement with the Trustees. The Trustees will not provide any element of subsidy for that venture.
The Trust has no income except what is raised from the users of the Pavilion and if this does not cover the running costs, the Trustees rely wholly on grant funding from the Town Council to provide and maintain the Playing Field for all the residents of Northleach and Eastington.
The Trustees remain committed to replacing the Pavilion and are already working on this project. Consequently, any agreement with the sports clubs and Northleach Club Ltd will be reviewed in 12 months time.
